Dream Back-Up Dancer: Jon Batiste's "I Need You"
Jon Batiste, if you're not aware, is one of this generation's most influential and talented piano players! With his featured role on Late Night with Stephen Colbert to now recording his own albums, he is a ray of positivity. His music is uplifting and heartfelt, with a touch of groove that makes you want to get up and dance!
I love all of his videos, but I especially love "I Need You", as the jazz painting comes to life with 50's style dancers. Turning fast and flipping around the floor, the dancers are fully immersed in the music all while being aware of the onlookers - Jon and his date. One of the dancers pops out of the painting and begins flirtatiously (as flirtatious as the 50's could be) dancing with him, making his date quite jealous. The entire group eventually pops out into the art museum to showcase a final, big routine!
Jon has the power to light up a room - he moves his body like spaghetti, fluid and free. His singing range is also next-level, going from deep bass to falsetto. It would be so fun to accompany him on a tour or on his next full-length music video!
