Dream Back-Up Dancer: Madonna's "Into The Groove"

I am an 80's baby, through and through. My earliest memories include dancing in front of the TV screen while MTV actually showed music videos. And for whatever reason - maybe because she has such an iconic look or her incredible set of pipes - the music video for "Into The Groove", as showcased in the movie Suddenly Seeking Susan, has been etched in my brain since 1985.

In middle school, I danced around the house to more of her music. In high school, I cut off all of my hair to emulate her 'Papa Don't Preach' era.

Over10 years ago, I had the opportunity to stand in the pit and watch Madonna perform. Never before had I been so intrigued by a woman, of her age, continuing to kill it on stage! When her throwback montage switched into 'Groove', the chills that went up my spine were intoxicating. THIS is my song.

Perhaps one day I will fulfill the tickle to take on a true Madonna classic in one of our dance video projects, but for the time being, I will simply reminisce and maybe bust out a lace glove or two.
