May 2021 #BaMFaM Spotlight: Kate Denman
With amazing talent and grace, Kate Denman caught our eye at a previous workshop and we asked her to be a part of the #BaMFAM. We were so excited when she jumped in and learned our latest dance video choreography! We can't wait to work with Kate on future projects!
Name: Kate Denman
How long have you been dancing? About 14 years
Favorite dance style/genre? Either jazz or contemporary
Why do you dance? It has always been a fun way for me to express myself. It is always a good workout, and it’s something fun for me to do with friends!
What do you do when you're not dancing (occupation/other hobbies)? I play piano, sing, and write my own songs. I am a full time student at Duquesne University, and I am a sophomore. I accompany multiple churches and a euphonium/tuba studio run by Dr. James Gourlay. I also teach private piano lessons. I love spending time with family and friends and having a good time!
If you could go on tour with any artist as a backup dancer, who would it be? Ariana Grande for sure. She is so talented and passionate about what she does. Her songs are also amazing and fun to dance to!
Words to live (and dance) by? Always keep being you, no matter what anyone else says and just enjoy your life.
